Instructor: Chris Harvey

Chris Harvey has taught all levels of middle school math and Algebra 1 previously at the high school level. He is delighted to join the SHC staff this year teaching Algebra 1 and Geometry. Mr. Harvey espouses a collaborative classroom environment that provides opportunities for students to engage in meaningful mathematical conversations with each other and articulate their understanding to their peers. Outside of school, he enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, exploring the Bay area, and traveling to new cities and countries during breaks.

Join us for a fun week of projects that will engage students in the world of math. Students will dig into a variety of topics such as probability, fractions, and more. Activities will involve competitive games, creativity, and discovery with a focus on being hands on and engaging!

Martin Joyce has taught all levels of middle school math and is delighted to join the SHC staff this year teaching Algebra 1 and AP Computer Science Principles. He believes in inquiry-based learning with rich class discussions to deepen conceptual knowledge. In his free time, he likes to spend time with his wife and two daughters and go on hikes with his dog.
