SHC Names Jose Niño as Head Boys Soccer Coach

(San Francisco, CA, 06/28/23) Sacred Heart Cathedral(SHC) is pleased to announce Jose Niño as its new Head Boys Soccer Coach. Niño brings more than two decades of coaching experience to the program and has worked with SF United since 2006, coaching squads within the club and serving as director of the club’s goalkeeper training program. His teams have achieved local and regional accolades, including a State Cup championship in 2016. Niño spent several years with SF Cardenales before joining SF United.

Niño joined the SHC community in 2022 as the assistant varsity boys coach and is excited to lead the program.

"I am blessed to be a part of the Sacred Heart Cathedral community and grateful to be named the new Head Boys Soccer Coach," Niño said. "I'm excited to give the best of myself to these young men by guiding and teaching them through the game of soccer. Through hard work, commitment and discipline, I look forward to seeing them show their love for and pride in playing for SHC."

Niño earned his US Soccer Federation C and B licenses and is currently pursuing his A license. In addition, he has studied with Frans Hoek in his goalkeeper program.
