Jeff Wilson Named Head Girls Soccer Coach

Sacred Heart Cathedral Athletics is pleased to welcome back Jeff Wilson, now as Head Coach of the Irish Girls Soccer program. Wilson has a long history of success with SHC soccer, serving as the Head Boys Varsity Soccer Coach from 1998-2017. Under his leadership, SHC Boys Varsity Soccer earned the program’s first appearance in the CCS playoffs, won 151 contests and garnered four CCS championship titles. Throughout his coaching tenure Wilson also served the SHC community as a counselor, college advisor and instructor of social studies. Currently, Wilson is also Head Women’s Soccer Coach at City College of San Francisco, where he has led the program to a 59-18-10 record since 2016. In addition, Wilson serves as Technical and College Pathway Director at San Francisco Elite Academy and as Head Girls Olympic Development State Team Coach.

Wilson brings to the SHC Girls Soccer program an extensive knowledge of the game, the highest levels of soccer certification, decades of coaching experience and a commitment to the development of the student-athletes in his care. Over the course of his career, Wilson has been recognized with numerous awards, including CIF Model Coach of the Year, CCS Honor Coach and Coast Conference Coach of the Year. Skilled at bringing out the best in his student-athletes, Coach Wilson creates an environment where education, work ethic, tactics and sportsmanship are emphasized.

“I am both honored and excited to have the opportunity to serve as the new head coach of the SHC girls soccer program. Obviously I am a huge admirer of the community where I spent 19 years as an educator, counselor and boys coach, and cannot wait to get started and build upon a program that coach Chris King took to new heights.”
