The SHC Walkathon is a student-led fundraiser that culminates in a 5K walk and picnic celebration in Golden Gate Park on Friday, September 12. Established to engage students in a shared effort that builds community, the Walkathon makes a tangible impact on SHC’s mission to provide the finest education in an inclusive Catholic community of faith by raising support for student programs and facility upgrades.
Our students are committed to investing $250,000 of Walkathon funds into the Abusharkh Family Sports Medicine Center, as well as student scholarships and travel grants, allowing our students to make a meaningful impact for themselves and future students.
This dedicated space will elevate the award-winning Sports Medicine Program's standing as providing the highest and most comprehensive standard of care for student-athletes in the Bay Area, focusing on areas of injury prevention, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation. The advanced facility will include new equipment, including two recovery cold tubs, hydrocollator, ice machine, treatment table, modality cart, high-low treatment table and taping station.
