37th Annual Walkathon

The Sacred Heart Cathedral Walkathon is a student-led fundraiser that culminates in a 5K walk and picnic celebration in Golden Gate Park on Friday, September 18. Since 1990, the Walkathon has brought together students, families, alumni and friends in support of student life and campus improvements, raising more than $5 million for Sacred Heart Cathedral in support of our mission to provide a transformative Lasallian Vincentian education.

As we celebrate SHC's 175th anniversary, this year's Walkathon honors the history and traditions that have shaped our school since 1852. From the arrival of the Daughters of Charity in San Francisco to the educational ministry of the De La Salle Christian Brothers and the formation of Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, generations of students, faculty and supporters have built a community grounded in faith, service and leadership.

This year, the Classes of 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030 are committed to raising $275,000 through the 37th Annual SHC Walkathon to leave a lasting legacy through the new Student Activities Center. The center will serve as a welcoming home for student leadership, campus traditions and the programs that bring our community together. Through the Walkathon, this year's students will leave a permanent mark on a space that will serve SHC students for years to come.

After raising more than $300,000 through last year's Walkathon, our students hope to set another fundraising record while continuing the tradition of investing in the future of SHC. Walkathon funds will also continue to support student scholarships and educational travel grants while providing excellence in student programming and ensuring every student has the opportunity to fully experience all that SHC has to offer.
