The Performing Arts Workshop

June 14-July 2, 2021 | 1 - 4 pm

Explore exciting topics in singing, acting, and digital music in this three-week workshop! Full description of topics are below.

Together, we will explore a variety of vocal techniques, including musical theater, pop, gospel, jazz, classical; whatever you are interested in! Basic music theory will be discussed. Are you a song-writer? We will also discuss how to write lyrics and compose music. You’ll learn to confidently prepare auditions for musicals, choirs, and college.

Instructor: Michael Kerschner

During this course, students will have the opportunity to walk through an entire production process. From creating the script to directing scenes, students will walk away with the experience of working as a team on a deadline to create a live stage production. Whether you are looking to increase confidence or you have experience with acting, students will leave with the skills needed to produce their own productions, understand the audition process, and they will learn how to push creative character choices that will leave a lasting impact on stage. With possible field-trips to local theaters in the area, all students will leave with access to a video file of their final performances.

Instructor: Spenser Morris
