Soccer Academy

Boys: July 18-22, 2022, Girls: June 20-24 & June 27-July 1 | 9 am-3 pm

Fightin’ Irish Soccer Academy will offer instruction for players from beginner to elite levels. Athletes will be placed in groups with participants of similar age, size and ability to ensure a beneficial learning environment. Throughout the daily sessions the coaching staff will cover various topics ranging from skill development to tactical organization, field awareness and positional play.

Cost: $395 Early Bird. $450 after April 15, 2022

Academy Instructor: Mike McNeill (Boys Soccer)
Mike McNeill is in his fourth year at the helm as the SHC Boys Varsity Soccer coach. McNeill also currently serves as director of coaching and PDL technical director for San Francisco’s largest youth soccer club, the San Francisco Glens. He was a two-year starter for the San Francisco State Gators after a playing stint in Sao Paolo, Brazil. McNeill has shown the same dedication to his coaching career by earning his UEFA “B” license and currently is obtaining his “A” license. He has served on the United Soccer Coaches Technical Advisory Committee and was named 2016 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Western Coach of the Year. In additional to club coaching, McNeill has spent multiple years coaching at the collegiate level with San Francisco State and the University of San Francisco. 

Academy Director: Jeff Wilson (Girls Soccer)
Coach Jeff Wilson was previously the head coach of the SHC’s boys soccer program for 17 years and led the Fightin’ Irish to 4 CCS titles, a runner-up finish and 151 total victories. He was named CCS Honor Coach for the 2009-10. He just finished his 5th season as the Head Women’s Soccer Coach at City College of San Francisco where he has led the Rams to a 70-21-10 record, straight playoff appearances, 2 Coast Conference titles and has been awarded Conference Coach of the Year twice. Now the Head SHC Girl’s Coach, Wilson has an extensive playing background, which includes collegiate soccer at San Francisco State University. He has since played for several semi-pro teams throughout the Bay Area. He also serves as a head coach for the Northern California Olympic Development 05 Girl’s State Team, San Francisco Elite Academy 03/04 Girl’s and Boys and holds the FIFA-recognized United States Soccer Federation (USSF) National “A” and Youth Licenses.
