Have you ever wondered what lives in the deep sea or how animals navigate the open ocean? Each day of this week-long course will focus on a different marine ecosystem. Through lab activities, games, art projects and videos, we will explore the characteristics of coral reefs, polar seas, kelp forests, the deep sea, and the open ocean; and learn about some of the charismatic animals that inhabit each of those ecosystems.
Cost: $425 Early Bird. $475 after April 21, 2023
Ages: Students entering 7th-9th grades in the fall of 2023

Instructor: Ryan Miller
Ryan Miller has been a science instructor at SHC for 1 year and currently teaches Marine Biology. He earned his degree in Environmental Science from UCLA. Prior to teaching, Ryan studied the effects of atmospheric carbon dioxide on kelp forest and seagrass ecosystems throughout California. In his free time he enjoys coaching volleyball and exploring beaches.
