Instrumental Music

July 6-10, 2020 | 1-3 pm

Finding your sound is an immersive summer music camp designed to foster creativity in instrumental performance. During the week, students will get a chance to advance their musical skills with the city of San Francisco as their backdrop. Topics covered will include basic technique, free improvisation, music history/theory, composition, as well as collaborative group projects. Come join us this summer and let’s JAM!

Ages: Students entering 7th-9th grades in the fall of 2020

Instructor: Tiv Cumberbatch
Tiv Cumberbatch is the Director of Instrumental Music at Sacred Heart Cathedral, teaching the Marching/Concert Band, String Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble. A native a Little Rock, AR, he received his Bachelors of Music in Education from Henderson State University. After teaching in the Arkansas public schools for several years, he earned a Masters of Music in Performance with an emphasis in Instrumental Wind Conducting from the State University of New York in Fredonia. As a recent addition to the SHC community, Mr. Cumberbatch is excited to work with bright, talented musicians this summer!
