June 12-16, 2023 (Session I) - (SOLD OUT) | July 17-21, 2023 (Session II) | 9 am to 3 pm

Each week, students will learn how to design and build a large scale construction project. Students will use power tools and try their hand at welding, metal fabrication, and electrical engineering in SHC’s Sister Caroline Collins, DC, Theater Shop. We will focus on how to build with confidence and safety. No prior building and fabrication experience is necessary.


Session I (June 12-16)
: Technical Theater—In this session we will learn all it takes to build sets, create lighting, sound and do special effects like smoke and fog. We will construct a large set piece and create the lighting, sound and projections for a scene in a production, which we will film on the last day.

Session II (July 17-21)
: Mini Golf—In Session II students will learn how to design and build Mini Golf. On Friday, parents are welcome at the end of camp to join us and play on our Mini Golf Course!

Cost: $425 Early Bird. $475 after April 21, 2023
Ages: Students entering 7th-9th grades in the fall of 2023

Instructor: Tim Mahoney
Tim Mahoney is the technical theater director at SHC. He has worked for over 20 years in the theater and has worked in both professional theater and community theater all over the Bay Area. He has over 35 years experience in both the computer design and construction industries. He is focused on teaching students all aspects of building, from soldering electronics to major construction and engineering.
