Football Academy

July 6-23 | 1 pm to 4 pm

The Fightin’ Irish Football Academy will teach the basics of football in a non contact environment. Athletes will be introduced to all positions and learn the proper way to throw, run, catch, punt and kick the football. The Academy will teach proper blocking and tackling positions and fundamentals. Athletes will participate in many fun games and competitions to practice their skills while having a blast and making lasting relationships. Be a part of something unique this summer! Coach McLaughlin recently completed his fourth year as the Head Coach of the Fightin’ Irish Football Program. Highlights of his first four years include two Bruce Mahoney wins over rivals St. Ignatius and two wins over Archbishop Riordan as well as a two trips to the CCS playoffs. Prior to this, Barry was an assistant on the varsity staff for 11 years, serving mostly as the defensive coordinator. A graduate of Archbishop Riordan, Barry played football at Utah State while earning his BA in physical education.  In addition to his football responsibilities, Barry is an Instructor in Science at SHC.
