Volleyball Academy

July 6-23 | 1 to 4 pm

Fightin’ Irish Volleyball Academy will present instruction for boys and girls who are looking to learn the sport and develop their current skill sets. The Academy will focus on fundamentals as well as advanced techniques for more advanced players. Training will include:

  • Approach and hitting techniques
  • Passing techniques, emphasizing footwork, movement and passing
  • Setting with an emphasis on footwork and hand positioning
  • Serving techniques, including float and jump serve
  • Agility, speed and jump training

Ages: 9-14

Academy Director: Margi Beima
Coach Margi Beima has been the head coach of the girls volleyball program for the past 17 years. In her tenure, she has tallied an outstanding overall record and her teams have won two WCAL titles, seven CCS titles, five NorCal championships, and a Division III State Championship. In 2010 she was named the West Sectional Volleyball Coach of the Year and the CIP Model Coach of the Year, and in 2018 she was named the Cal-Hi Sports State Coach of the Year. In addition to her coaching duties at SHC, Coach Beima is a co-director and founder of Sláinte Volleyball Club. She is a graduate of Santa Clara University where she double-majored in English and Spanish, and was a four year letter-winner on the volleyball team.
