Swim Academy (Co-ed)

June 29-July 2, 2020 | 9 am to 3 pm

The Fightin’ Irish Swim Academy is designed to promote all aspects of water safety and stroke development through the teaching of proper swimming techniques and recognition of one’s limitations in and around various aquatic environments. This academy is designed for intermediate swimmers with the ability to swim and breathe independently.

This academy will be supervised by SHC swim coaches who are Red Cross certified lifeguards to ensure the safety of camp members. Mornings will consist of in-the-water swim instruction classes by SHC swim team coaches and swim team members. Afternoons will consist of water games and competitions facilitated by SHC coaches and lifeguards.

The Fightin' Irish Swim Academy will be hosted at the Boys & Girls Club SF Don Fisher Clubhouse swimming pool located at Gough & Fulton Streets, and swimmers will walk to SHC each day for lunch. Campers that enroll in the Summer Institute extended care program will be walked to the Club and/or back to SHC each day.
