Cooking II (SOLD OUT)

July 17-21, 2023 | 9 am-3 pm

This cooking and culture workshop will give students an opportunity to explore the variety of foods from around the world available to us right here in San Francisco. We will explore our favorite foods and discover the roots of various cultures here in our own city. We will venture out into the city everyday, learning how to shop for the ingredients for fun and creative dishes. Throughout our time, students will be introduced to menu planning, meal preparation, and how food creates community. This class will combine the exploration of various neighborhoods in the city as we focus on preparing a variety of delicious meals.

Cost: $425 Early Bird. $475 after April 21, 2023
Ages: Students entering 7th-9th grades in the fall of 2023

Instructor: Nicole Nastari

Nicole Nastari is the Dean of Students at Sacred Heart Cathedral and the parent of three SHC students. She is a native of San Francisco and grew up with deep Italian roots in the city. Her love for cooking started young as she made so many delicious Italian dishes with her grandparents who lived down the street. Although she mostly cooks Italian food, Nicole loves to prepare various dishes for her family. This love for international fare comes from the amazing variety of foods offered here in San Francisco.
