Coding Exploration

July 5-8, 2022 | 9 am-3 pm

In Coding Explorations students learn to code as it relates to music, art, and sports. Using a block-coding environment, students create music beats, explore the digital art medium by building coding programs that create collages, and develop their own sports video games and simulations using code.

Cost: $395 Early Bird. $450 after April 15, 2022
Ages: Students entering 7th-9th grades in the fall of 2022

Instructor: Alexandria Cervantes
Alexandria Cervantes is a first year mathematics and computer science instructor at SHCP. Originally from Salinas, CA, Ms. Cervantes attended CSU Monterey Bay where she obtained her B.S. in Mathematics and completed her M.S. in Mathematics Education at the University of Illinois. This is Ms. Cervantes' 7th consecutive summer teaching computer science summer programs, she has previous taught C++, Python and Javascript. Beyond her love for Mathematics and Computer Science, Ms. Cervantes teaches Crochet 101 at SHCP as an academic exploration.
