June 21-25, 2021 (Session I: 10 am-noon, 1-3 pm) | July 6-9, 2021 (Session II: 10 am-noon, 1-3 pm)
This class introduces JavaScript to beginners. Students will learn the fundamentals and building blocks essential to all coding languages, including Conditionals, Loops, Variables and Functions, as well as how to notate their code and follow established naming conventions.
Ages: Students entering 7th-9th grades in the fall of 2021

Instructor: Grey Todd
Grey Todd is currently a computer science teacher and technical lead at Presidio Middle School, where he loves teaching Scratch, App Inventor, Robotics, Python and Javascript. Before becoming a teacher, he worked for over 20 years at jobs in the software industry. Mr. Todd is proud to be part of a small group of like-minded teachers working in concert with SFUSD’s Ed Tech department to create the computer science curriculum used by all middle schools in the district. His favorite part of the day is always the part where he gets to write code with kids.
