SHC Spring Gala 2019: Club 80s

The Spring Gala is SHC’s largest fundraising event of the year. Funds raised at Club 80s will directly benefit the young men and women of SHC by enhancing classroom and shared learning spaces, support co-curricular activities, provide financial assistance to students in need and offer faculty curriculum grants for our teachers to be innovate in the classroom.

On Saturday, March 30, 2019, join SHC alumni, current and past parents, and friends of the community for Club 80s, SHC’s annual Spring Gala. The evening kicks off at 6 pm HST (Hammer Standard Time) with a silent auction, raffles, arcade games and a hosted bar.

Enjoy a seated dinner, followed by our Live Auction and Fund-a-Need with our emcee—and auctioneer Emily Quinn. Cut up your sweatshirts as you’ll be dancing in the dark (or until midnight).

The funds raised from the Spring Gala directly benefit the young men and women of SHC. This year funds raised will provide financial assistance to students in need, support co-curricular activities, offer faculty curriculum grants to promote innovation in the classroom, and provide enhancements to classrooms and shared learning spaces on campus.

The entire SHC community! Current and past parents, alumni, faculty, staff and friends come together to support our mission and our students.

From October to March, the Spring Gala committee works hard at securing sponsorships, auction and raffle items, advertisements for the program, registration and ticket sales and event production, set-up and clean-up. We are always looking for volunteers—anyone who is willing to lend a hand is welcome. For more information on volunteering please contact Advancement Event Manager Gia Barsi ’02.

The evening begins with cocktails and hors d’oeuvers. Guests are invited to bid in the silent auction, purchase raffle tickets from our Block Club students, and try your luck at our Wine Wall. Guests are then seated for a three-course dinner and can participate in our lively Fund-a-Need and Live Auction. Dancing and auction checkout conclude the evening.

Purchase: Individual tickets or tables are on sale now! Raffle tickets are also available for purchase for family and friends. Raffle winners need not be present to win.

Advertise: Promote your business or place a personal message to a student, athletic team, faculty member, coach or co-curricular program in the auction program. 

Donate: Donate items or services to the silent and live auction. Donate in-kind items such as beverages, spirits, wine, food and decor to the event.

Bid Online: Participate in our online auction from March 17–24.

Online items will be available for pick up by the winning bidder in the Office of Advancement starting Monday, March 25 from 8:30 am–4:30pm. Unless otherwise specified, items will be mailed out the week of April 1.

Auction checkout begins at 10 pm on event night. Due to time constraints during the event, the checkout will not be open prior to 10 pm. Items are also available for pick up in the Office of Advancement starting Monday, April 1 from 8:30 am–4:30 pm.

SHC is going green! This year, all purchases (auction/raffle/Fund-a-Need) made at the Gala will be paperless and emailed to you on Monday, April 1. Please ensure you are giving the best email address at check-in.
