SHC Names Alexander Cole Head Boys Lacrosse Coach

(San Francisco, CA) Sacred Heart Cathedral (SHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Alexander Cole as its new Head Boys Lacrosse Coach. Cole comes to SHC from De La Salle High School in Concord where he served as an assistant coach for the lacrosse program.

Cole grew up in the East Bay and graduated from De La Salle High School before attending George Washington University in Washington, DC. Cole played for GWU’s men's lacrosse team and was a three-time team captain. After graduating from GWU, he returned to the Bay Area to begin his coaching career. In addition to coaching high school lacrosse, Cole also coaches with the Alcatraz Outlaws and San Francisco Riptide at both the youth and high school levels. He attributes his growth in the game to learning from some of the best coaches in the Bay Area like John Christmas, Neil Butterfield and Skyler Hopkins.

“I look forward to continuing to build on a tradition of excellence at Sacred Heart Cathedral,” Cole stated. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to lead this next chapter in the history of SHC boys lacrosse and look forward to coaching the hard-working and talented student-athletes in the program.”

Athletic Director Phil Freed stated, “We are excited to welcome Coach Cole to the SHC family. As a former player and coach at a fellow Lasallian school, he understands the importance of not only coaching but also shaping the minds and spirits of the young men who play lacrosse.”
