Margi Beima Retires as Girls Volleyball Head Coach

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory announces that, after twenty three years of service to the SHC Volleyball program, Margi Beima has decided to retire as head girls volleyball coach. To quote former athletic director Jo Ann Momono, “Margi has established herself as one of the all-time best volleyball coaches in California high school history.” In her 19 years as head coach, the Irish captured eight Central Coast Section Championships, three West Catholic Athletic League titles, five NorCal titles and one CIF State Championship in 2014, and she had a record of 533 wins and 180 losses. During this time, Coach Beima was recognized with many awards, including Cal-Hi Sports State Coach of the Year, CIF Model Coach and CCS Honor Coach. While Coach Beima has earned a lot of victories and awards according to Jo Ann Momono “Her greatest legacy is the impact that she made on the hundreds of young women who played for her. Treating them not just as players, but like daughters, and caring for their personal development more than their volleyball skills.” Coach Beima will continue to serve Sacred Heart Cathedral as Athletic Director and looks forward to the next chapter in Irish volleyball history.
