Mackiewicz Named SHC Head Girls Volleyball Coach
Sacred Heart Cathedral Athletics is pleased to announce Symone Mackiewicz as its new Head Girls Volleyball Coach. Mackiewicz brings to the role previous experience as head coach at International High School and Terra Nova High School. In addition to her high school coaching experience, Mackiewicz has coached for almost a decade in the club volleyball world. She currently works with SF Elite Volleyball Club, where she assists the director of the club and coaches both 18s and 12s teams.
Mackiewicz returns to SHC after having played in the Irish volleyball program in the mid 2000s. “I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to take over the Sacred Heart Cathedral Girls Volleyball Program, and I’m ready to hit the ground running. I remember stepping into the gym as a student-athlete always in game mode, ready to work hard, compete, and push myself to be the best I could be. I’m excited to bring that same mentality to the SHC Volleyball Program.” Mackiewicz brings knowledge, passion, energy, a positive attitude and a competitive drive. In addition to coaching, Mackiewicz is a full-time mother of two.
