Sacred Heart Cathedral Athletics (SHC) is pleased to announce Kayla Choy ’17 as its new Head Girls Golf Coach.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Athletics (SHC) is pleased to announce Kayla Choy ’17 as its new Head Girls Golf Coach. Choy returned to SHC last season as an assistant coach for the program and head junior varsity coach for the Irish.

Upon graduating from SHC, Choy went on to compete with the top female golfers at the NCAA Division I level for San Jose State for two seasons. She transferred to Cal State Monterey Bay to finish her collegiate career where she helped the Otters place 4th at the CCAA Championships. Choy graduated from Monterey Bay with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. While at SHC, Choy served as captain of the girls golf team and earned all-league honors.

“I am very excited to be back at Sacred Heart Cathedral as head coach of the Girls Golf program. It feels great to give back to the program that led me to my career as a collegiate student-athlete. I look forward to working with the girls and seeing them improve every day,” Choy said.

In addition to serving as Head Girls Golf Coach, Choy works with Select Physical Therapy in San Francisco as a patient service specialist.

SHC Athletics would like to express our gratitude to former Head Coach Jim Enright for his many years of service to the Girls Golf program. Coach Enright stepped down as head coach due to schedule conflicts but will remain on the girls golf staff as an assistant coach.
