Sacred Heart Cathedral is a premier destination for many Bay Area families because of the opportunities available to its student-athletes. SHC offers a sports experience for the most competitive athletes and individuals just starting in sports. The Irish have captured 64 league titles overall, and since 1987 the Irish have won 28 Central Coast Section titles, 20 NorCal titles, eight State Team titles and two State Individual titles. And that success is supported by the resources available to its student-athletes. A state-of-the-art Athletic Performance Center for training, weight lifting and nutrition guidance, a cutting-edge sports medicine department and professionally-trained coaches, strength and conditioning professionals, and athletic trainers ensure that all SHC athletes perform at their highest level.

When student-athletes don the SHC green, white and blue, they join a storied tradition of excellence.

With over 58 teams in 24 sports, students can excel in many sports. Student-athletes also have an opportunity to compete in arguably the most competitive and most visible high school league in California, the West Catholic Athletic League, which is a must-watch league for NCAA college recruiters and professional scouts. The Fightin’ Irish also play at some of the most prestigious stadiums and arenas, including the San Francisco Chase Center, Oracle Park, the University of San Francisco and Kezar Stadium.
