Girls Volleyball

The Sacred Heart Cathedral Girls Volleyball Program, one of the top programs in the state, has been ranked in the top 100 nationally several times throughout the years. A perennial CCS and NorCal contender, the program has achieved eight Central Coast Section Championships (two Open Division), five NorCal titles, three West Catholic Athletic League titles and a Division III California State Championship since 2004. The team earns the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award (3.3+ GPA) on an annual basis, and founded the Serve It Up Founders Classic — a tournament that combines community service with volleyball competition. The program is proud to remain committed to excellence on the court, in the classroom, and in the community.

Margi Beima

Coach Margi Beima has served as head coach for nearly two decades, 23 years with the program overall. Throughout her tenure, the Irish have garnered 17 championships and more than 500 wins. Coach Beima has been recognized with several coaching honors including 2010 NFHS Western Region Volleyball Coach of the Year and CIF Model Coach of the Year, 2018 Cal-Hi Sports State Coach of the Year, 2004 Mercury News Coach of the Year, 2018 SFIAC Steve Mariucci Coach of the Year winner, and 2005 CCS Honor Coach.
