During the summer, this Class of 2022 web page serves as your primary resource for the information you will need to prepare for the upcoming school year. Check this page often as we will continue to update important deadlines and information.

Summer Tasks and Information

Preparing for the First Day of Class: August 15

Information from the Director of Studies: Class Schedule/Procedure to Request Schedule Changes

A class schedule for the 2018-19 academic year is included in the June 28 summer mailing. Please understand that this is a tentative schedule; you will receive your final class schedule at Orientation on August 10-11. Review your schedule carefully to make sure that it contains six academic classes each semester.

Before requesting a schedule change: Please know that we do NOT honor schedule changes based on teacher preferences.  Such requests will invariably be denied.

Appeals regarding admission to honors and AP classes will not be considered because the process was completed in the spring semester; all limited enrollment courses are now full. As those prerequisites noted, students who may have initially qualified for limited enrollment courses may no longer be qualified if their second semester grades did not meet the requirements. Please be aware that schedule changes will be extremely difficult to accommodate once the school year begins; therefore, it is to your advantage to request changes as soon as you receive your schedule. Some courses were cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. Students who requested alternates were placed in those courses; otherwise, students were placed in similar courses as the original request.

Your request for a schedule change must be received via email to Director of Studies Kate McFadden. Class changes will be made through July 6, and will begin again August 3. No changes will be made July 7–August 2.  Changes will be considered in the order in which they are received. In order for us to consider your schedule change, you must state what change you are requesting and why. Please include contact information (i.e., email address, phone numbers) in case further information is needed.

PURCHASING TEXTBOOKS ONLINE

Students may purchase their books online through the MBS Bookstore beginning July 1. Free shipping has been arranged from July 22–28. If a teacher is supplying a specific book and/or materials in class, or asks you to purchase a book at an alternate site, messages have been created in the MBS Bookstore to inform you. To ensure that your books arrive in time for the opening of school, please order them by August 1. No books are being sold on campus. However, the SHC Prep Shop will be open for the purchase of SHC school supplies and SHC apparel (with the exception of SHC polos, which are only available through Lands’ End).

PURCHASING SHC POLO SHIRTS & MASS ATTIRE

All students are required to wear long- or short-sleeved SHC polo shirts and Mass Day Attire purchased from Lands’ End. SHC Block Club Sweater, SHC Game Day Jacket, or SHC School Jackets are the exceptions and may be worn only if a student has earned the right to wear one. Please read the SHC dress code and allow 2–3 weeks for Lands’ End to process orders to ensure students are in proper dress at Orientation.

PURCHASING SHC SCHOOL SKIRT (OPTIONAL)

School skirts are optional and can be purchased through Dennis Uniform on 590 10th Street in San Francisco, or online.

DEVICE POLICIES & SCHOOL SUPPLIES

Teachers will provide a syllabus on the first day of each class and will notify students of any supplies needed. For more information on our device policies, please find the FAQs and minimum system specifications on the SHC website Academics>Educational Technology.

Athletic Participation

ATHLETIC PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

Please note physicals are required for all incoming ninth graders, regardless of whether or not a student intends to join an athletic team. The online Appryse Athletic Participation Forms completed as a new student at SHC also fulfills the form requirements to participate in athletic tryouts, preseason conditioning/weightlifting sessions, etc. Please visit https://app.appryse.com/enroll/AYU6SC25 to enroll. This is in addition to the Immunization Form. Only the SHC Pre-Participation Physical Exam (PPE) Form, and forms completed by a physician (MD or DO) will be accepted and must be completed online. Please contact Head Athletic Trainer Oscar Melero or Assistant Athletic Trainer Chelsie Baldwin if you have any questions regarding the PPE Form or Athletic Participation Forms.

  • 9th Grade:  Wednesday, 8/15, 3:30 pm at Kezar Stadium

  • 10th-12th Grade: Friday, 8/3, 2:30 pm at SHC practice field
  • 9th Grade:  Monday 8/13, 3 pm at SHC practice field

Girls Golf
