SHC Wellness
SHC School Counselors, College Advisors, and Wellness Counselors are dedicated to ensuring that our students develop an array of personal and academic resources to make effective choices for the present and future.
The Sacred Heart Cathedral Wellness Counselors work in close partnership with School Counseling & College Advising to support students’ overall well-being so they can fully engage in school. Reflecting a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), students receive wellness education, resources, and prevention programming through school-wide initiatives; additional group and individualized support is available for students who may need it.
The SHC Wellness Specialists address a range of topics including mental health, stress and anxiety, substance use awareness and prevention, healthy relationships and consent, and skill-building for coping and self-care. Wellness staff offer education and direct services, and partner with local organizations and universities to provide support, case management, resources, and referrals for those who may need or want more substantial or long-term therapy.
Students may access Wellness services through drop-in support, self-referral, or referrals from SHC staff.
