Enjoy an introduction to musical theater through hands-on improvisation and acting techniques, rudimentary study of the mechanics of a song and the exploration of dance techniques.
Participants will learn individually and as members of a group. The workshop will culminate with an open class where parents and family can come to enjoy some of the successes of the week.

Instructor: Christian Bohm
Mr. Christian Bohm has been teaching music at the high school level for 22 years and is in his 17th year as Director of Music at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Mr. Bohm is proud to have taken the SHC Chorus to London, New York, Los Angeles and Italy, where they performed at the Vatican. He recently led his students to a first place prize at a National Choral Competition in Hawaii.
Originally from Denver, Mr. Bohm received a bachelor’s degree in Music and Italian and a master’s degree from Brigham Young University. He has worked professionally as an accompanist, vocal coach, actor and musical director for California Musical Theater, Sacramento Opera and the Denver Community Center. He is a popular cabaret performer including regular gigs at Martuni’s, The Lush Lounge and many others.
Mr. Bohm has had the privilege of accompanying and coaching many professional entertainers, including Carol Channing, Rita Moreno, B.D. Wong, Alan Cumming, Sharon Gless, Sir Ian McKellan and Megan Mullally.
Mr. Bohm composed the score for an original musical based on “A Christmas Carol” performed in Sacramento and in Los Angeles, receiving critical acclaim.
