Making Music

June 19-23, 2017 | 9 am to 3 pm « Back

IMG_1427Mankind has been making and listening to music for thousands of years. Come and explore the creation of music, guided by a professional. We will learn how to create, compose and perform our own music. Emphasis will be on songwriting, recording, and putting a band together. By the end of the week, you will be able to write songs and will experience the process of recording your music. One year or more of experience in music is recommended, but not required.

Cost: 

  • $325 by the “Early Bird” deadline of April 19, 2017
  • $375 after April 15, 2019

Ages: Students entering 7th, 8th, and 9th grades in the fall of 2019

Instructor: Chris Nalls

Chris Nalls is Director of Instrumental Music at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Classes taught include Concert Band, Concert Band Honors, String Ensemble, Instrumental Music and Jazz Ensemble. He is a professional french horn player who performs throughout  the San Francisco Bay Area. As a composer and arranger, Mr. Nalls has written music for numerous groups across the country.
