Fightin' Irish Volleyball Academy (Co-ed)

Dates: July 15-19
9 am - 3 pm
Ages: 8-14
Cost: $350 (lunch included)
Fightin' Irish Volleyball Academy will present instruction for boys and girls who are looking to learn the sport as well as develop their current skill sets. The Academy will focus on fundamentals as well as advanced techniques for more advanced players. Training will include:
• Approach and hitting techniques
• Passing techniques, emphasizing footwork, movement, and passing
• Setting with an emphasis on footwork and hand positioning
• Serving techniques, including float and jump serve
• Agility, speed, and jump training
Camp Directors:
Margi Beima - Girls Volleyball
Margi Beima has been the Head Coach of the Girls Volleyball Program for the past 10 years. In her tenure, she has tallied an outstanding overall record, and has seven CCS and four NorCal Championships under her belt. She was recently named the 2010 West Sectional Volleyball Coach of the Year and the 2010 CIF Model Coach of the Year. In addition to her coaching duties at SHC, Coach Beima is a co-director and founder of the Sláinte Volleyball Club. Coach Beima is a graduate of Santa Clara University, where she double majored in English and Spanish, and was a four year letter winner on the volleyball team.
Nga Tran - Boys Volleyball
Nga Tran is the Head Coach for the SHC Boys Volleyball Program for the last eight years. In her first year as head coach, she won SHC’s first WCAL Volleyball Championship, and she recently led her team to the 2012 CCS title. In addition to her coaching duties at SHC, Coach Tran is a co-director and founder of Sláinte Volleyball Club. Coach Tran is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she double majored in Sociology and Criminal Justice.
