Buster Posey Kicks Off SHC Healthy Habits Assembly
San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey and in-game reporter Amy Gutierrez made a special appearance at today’s Healthy Habits Assembly.
Thanks to sponsor BODYARMOR SuperDrink, our students had the rare opportunity to engage with a three-time World Series Champion on campus. At the assembly, classes competed against one another in fun games designed to get them moving, students reflected on their reading of Michael Pollan’s Food Rules, the school community met Epicurean, SHC’s new food management partner, and students had the opportunity to get to know Posey through a student-led Q&A session

“With City Hall just a few blocks away from our campus, SHC students and community members have been able to celebrate three World Series Championship parades with our very own San Francisco Giants. Today, SHC is proud to welcome All-Star and MVP Buster Posey to our campus,” said Principal Gary Cannon. “Mr. Posey sets an example by playing with grace and humility. He works hard, strives for excellence, and focuses on the team rather than the individual. We hope our students find inspiration in his leadership and example.”
As Posey made his entrance, the Pavilion filled with cheers from a surprised and enthusiastic student body. As a sports celebrity and local figure, Posey represents the great sense of pride SHC students have for their local community and this incredible City.
Prior to the assembly, Posey joined members of the SHC varsity baseball and softball teams for an exclusive hands-on training session in the Andrew Pilara Sr. Batting Cages.
