General & Endowed Scholarships

Scholarships enable SHC to provide an academically rigorous, Catholic education to all students regardless of their financial situation. Your gift of tuition assistance allows SHC to continue to serve an economically diverse student population in accordance with our mission and philosophy. There are several ways to contribute: 

General Scholarships

Your gift to the General Scholarship Fund can be utilized immediately as tuition assistance for a family with demonstrated need. Your donation toward a general scholarship makes an instant impact on an SHC student and the larger community.

Endowed Scholarships

Your gift toward an endowed scholarship is a way to contribute to SHC and its community in perpetuity. Your donation toward an endowed scholarship is professionally invested. Each year, approximately 5% of the market value of your gift will be awarded as scholarship funds for families with demonstrated need based on the criteria you establish at creation of the scholarship. Gifts toward endowed scholarships are split into two categories:

Partially Endowed Scholarships

Your gift of $25,000―$125,000 constitutes a Partially Endowed Scholarship. At this level, approximately 5% of the market value of this investment supports partial tuition scholarships.

You may choose to give your gift of a partially endowed scholarship as one “In Progress.” You may create an investor agreement to build your gift over time to the $25,000+ principal level. Your investment timeline should not exceed five years, and if you are unable to maintain and/or achieve the principal levels in the initial agreements, the fund will be liquidated into the SHC Endowed Scholarship Fund. No funds will be awarded for tuition assistance while the scholarship is growing to the $25,000 level. 

Fully Endowed Scholarships

Your gift of $125,000 or more constitutes a Fully Endowed Scholarship. At this level, approximately 5% of the market value of this investment supports one-half tuition scholarship at SHC each year annually.
