Seniors, Ms. Elvander is giving out a prize to the first 30 people who submit their university scholarships and awards to her. These awards will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, and will be included in the Graduation program if submitted by May 1st.

AE enrollment ends tomorrow! Join Ms. Kim Gutowski, former SHC biology instructor and fourth-year medical school student in Dissection.  Or, take your pencil and sketchbook in hand and tour the city with SHC's art teacher, Mr. Brian McHugh. Come make your own trail mix during lunch today! You will have a variety of ingredients including chocolate chips, dried cranberries, raisins, pecans, and more! What better way to celebrate SHC's Earth Week than with some food! See you in the Dining Hall!

UCSF is offering free Pre-participation Physical Exams including an EKG on Saturday, May 3 in their Mission Bay Campus. Space is limited to the first 500 students and it's filling up fast. You can register online at playsafecardiac.ucsf.edu.  Please see athletic trainers Oscar Melero or Heather Terbeek in the athletic training room if you plan on attending as you will need to use the SHC forms.

The Library will close at 4pm on Thursday before Spring Break.

Seniors, Ms. Elvander is giving out a prize to the first 30 people who submit their university scholarships and awards to her. These awards will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, and will be included in the Graduation program if submitted by May 1st.

Our SHC community will end this year's Lenten observances with a Holy Week prayer service on Wednesday in the Pavilion. The theme will be the Last Seven Words of Christ. The service will feature several student organizations including our advanced drama class, Kairos leaders, dancers and much more. Regular school attire only for this service. The service will take place at the end of your Block 5 class beginning at 9:15 am.

Join Earth Action for some volleyball in the plaza today. After school, there will be a presentation in the theater about saving our oceans. Come in support of Earth Week, it should be fun!

There will be a crepe sale sponsored by the French Club today during lower division lunch. All proceeds will go to the food drive. Come get a delicious crepe with whip cream and nutella!

There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday April 15th right after school in Room 406 for anyone who is interested in learning more about the Computer Programming Visual Basic 6.0 that SHC is offering this summer. If interested please plan on attending.

De Paul Scholars are reminded that they should plan on being present Tuesday night sometime between 6:30 and 6:45 in the Collins Theater for the DPS ceremony.

Congratulations to the track & field team for some great performances at the Santa Rosa Twilight Invitational. The Irish won 5 events overall, led by a sweep of the Girls relays. Isabel Gonzalez won the Girls 400. Tony Suarez won the Boys 3200. Olivia Jacobo set a new meet record in winning the 800. And the Girls 4X4 relay team of Marisol Castro, Olivia Jacobo, Blossom Wong, and Daija Mayfield also set a meet record.

Toss a frisbee or a crepe, run through the gates of the university or rip through a seam in a summer Academic Explorations. But hurry: enrollment ends this Thursday, April 17. See the website for details.

It's Earth Week at SHC! We kick off today serving Organic and Fair Trade tea on the Veranda. Throughout the week, everyone is welcome to join Earth Volleyball in the plaza starting Tuesday, a presentation after school on Tuesday, customized trail mix during Wednesday lunch, and a planting day on Thursday. What a great way to end school right before break! Come join and have fun

Attention Seniors - There will be a mandatory class meeting on Tuesday, April 15, at 8:00am during the Blue Period. This is our first meeting in preparation for Graduation. We will meet in the Collins Theater and attendance will be taken.

Catch a ball, catch an allusion, catch a glimpse through the gates of the university of your choice! Consider taking an Academic Exploration this summer along with catching some rays.  These one-unit, pass/fail classes go beyond the regular college preparatory and allow students and teachers to learn in new and unexpected ways.  All students in good standing are welcome to enroll in summer courses; see the website under Academics for details. Academic Explorations:  for the adventurous learner!

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys track & field team! For the fourth year in a row, the Irish defeated Riordan in their annual dual meet. Troy San Buenaventura led the way, winning the 200, running on the 1st place 4X1, taking 2nd in the long jump, and winning the high jump. Chad Brady swept both hurdle races. Tony Suarez won the 3200 and Stephen Peterson won the 1600. And in an exciting 400 meter race, Roberto Escobar came from behind to win in dramatic fashion.

Make prayer an important habit of your Lenten journey by attending our next and last Lenten Mass held this Friday morning in the chapel before school beginning at 7:15 am. Fr. Rob Carbonneau will be our presider. This Mass ends at 7:45 giving everyone time to make their first class of the day. All are welcome to attend.
