Did you know that ocean water is not just “salty water?” In this class students will study the chemistry of the ocean while at the same time learning about basic chemistry principles. The week will include trips to the ocean, qualitative and quantitative experiments, and a basic overview of chemistry.
Instructor: Vito Ferrante
An instructor for over 20 years, Vito is currently a math teacher, artist, and finishing his doctoral studies in Learning & Instruction at the University of San Francisco. His interests include using digital media to enhance classroom instruction and assessment as well as helping foster a student-centered classroom. He was recently awarded the Innovation in Teaching with Technology Award for adjunct faculty at USF.
