SHC’s Visual & Performing Arts Program engages hundreds of students ready to share their creative talents. We support the arts as an integral aspect of our independent high school’s holistic education and a chance give every student the chance to discover her or his passion. Seniors who participate for all four years in VPA programs may be eligible to graduate with the Arts Distinction award.
Our state-of-the-art Sister Caroline Collins, DC, Theater opened in October 2010 and is just one of the venues in which our world-renowned chorus and theatre programs thrive. VPA alumni are seen on TV, in films and on Broadway. Our instrumental band and dance programs perform and compete nationwide. The digital photography program continues to grow, capturing the eye of many talented students.
Visual & Performing Arts Chair and Director of Music Christian Bohm, Director of Instrumental Music Paul Eastburn, Director of Drama Spenser Morris, and Director of Dance Laura Wexler work tirelessly to bring out the best in each gifted and eager student. The talents of these instructors show through every student performance. The Instructors of Visual Arts collaborate to execute an Art Show each spring.
