Educational Technology

Educational Technology serves the broader mission of SHC by empowering faculty, staff and students with the knowledge and tools to create and innovate in thoughtful ways with technology. Our experienced EdTech team provides faculty and staff with a variety of professional development and growth opportunities throughout the year. Faculty regularly make use of technology as a way to encourage students to evaluate media, build critical thinking skills, and develop digital literacy skills.

In the summer of 2012, SHC upgraded our existing campus-wide wireless infrastructure to a state-of-the-art system will support personally owned computer devices. Student-owned laptops, e-readers, tablets and smartphones are all welcome for the purpose of learning. We are also proud to announce the launch of our new learning management system, Schoology, for the fall of 2012. From rich forums to social commentary features and much more, this platform allows users to fully participate in the learning process.
